João Antunes

Software Architect at Openvia Portugal

Who am I?

Code, headbang, grouch, repeat!

What´s my story?

After completing my master’s degree in computer engineering, I started working as a software engineer, and, over the last few years, transitioned to more architecture focused roles.

I’ve worked across different projects and industries, developing (micro)services, web applications, IPTV applications and a bunch of other stuff.

Due to my constant yapping about .NET and related technologies (through blogs, videos and presentations), I’ve been awarded as a Microsoft MVP, in the developer technologies category.

What do I do at Openvia?

As the architecture lead for the Openvia Platform, my main responsibilities are, working closely with the CTO and other colleagues, to oversee and guide, from a technical perspective, the evolution and maintenance of our platform and products.

Ask me about…?

Software development (distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architecture and much more), gadgets and heavy metal music.
