Openvia Tolling Plaza has been successfully implemented in Ruta 27 (Costa Rica), Autopista Central Gallega (Spain), Transmontana and Beira Interior (both in Portugal) and Pocahontas Parkway (Virginia, USA).

In particular, the project to renovate the toll system of Ruta 27 (Costa Rica) stands out, without generating visible impacts on the user experience, especially in relation to traffic jams. By creating two communication gateways, allowing data exchange between the legacy systems and the new Openvia Tolling Plaza and Openvia Tolling Back Office, it was feasible to migrate both lanes and back-office services one by one without any interaction between them.

All lanes and the main back-office services were kept running at 100% throughout the entire migration process, without causing any disruption to users.

By switching to Openvia Tolling Plaza, we have been able to improve lane performance, smooth field operations and reduce the manual validation workload from 20% to 5%.
